Studio policies
Privacy,
plainly put.
This site is a window into the studio, not a tracking system. Here is what we receive when you browse or write to us, and what we do with it.

Who we are
This policy covers kilnclaystudio.com and direct correspondence with Kiln & Clay Studio about our ceramics, workshops, visits, and custom work. When this page says “we” or “us,” it means the studio.
You can read the site without creating an account. There is no checkout or payment processor on the site.
Information you choose to send
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. That may include your name, telephone number, details about a piece you want, or accessibility and scheduling needs for a workshop. You decide what to include.
If an inquiry becomes an order, booking, or commission, we may also keep the written quote and confirmation, the agreed price and payment status, and pickup or shipping details. We use these records to do the work you asked us to do and to keep our business records straight.
Please do not email payment-card numbers, security codes, bank passwords, or other sensitive information that we do not need. The website never asks for them.
Hosting logs and local assets
Our hosting provider may record standard technical information when a page is requested. This can include your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, browser or device information, and the referring address supplied by your browser. These logs help deliver the site, diagnose faults, and protect it from abuse.
The images, fonts, stylesheets, and scripts used by this site are served from our own domain. Reading a page does not require your browser to fetch those assets from an outside font, image, script, or content-delivery service.
How we use and share information
We use the information described above to:
- answer questions and arrange studio visits;
- quote for, confirm, and fulfill orders, commissions, and workshop bookings;
- keep appropriate financial and business records;
- operate and secure the website; and
- meet legal obligations or respond to a valid legal request.
Information may be handled by the providers that host our website or mailbox, but only for the services they provide to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or when necessary to protect someone’s rights or safety. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Retention and security
We keep emails and related records only as long as reasonably needed for the conversation, the work you asked us to do, our record-keeping obligations, or a dispute. Those needs differ: a quick question may be finished much sooner than the records for a completed order. Hosting-log retention depends on the hosting configuration and operational security needs.
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. Even so, email, websites, and electronic storage are not completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for access to personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may also have rights to object to or restrict some uses, receive a portable copy, or complain to a privacy or data-protection authority. Legal exceptions can apply, particularly where we need to keep business or transaction records.
Email your request to hello@kilnclaystudio.com. We may need enough information to confirm that the request concerns you. We will respond as applicable law requires.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if our website or information practices change, and revise the date above when we do.
